At Bio-D, we believe that great things come from small beginnings—and even better things come from celebrating those beginnings. That’s why we recently hosted our second annual Soap Awards, a joyful, heartfelt, and occasionally ‘cheesy’ (with plenty of vegan cheese, of course) internal event dedicated to recognising the incredible people who make Bio-D what it is.
Launched in 2024 to celebrate our 35th anniversary, the Soap Awards have quickly become a cherished part of our company culture. As a proud B Corp and vegan business, we’re committed to putting people, animals, and the planet before profit—and what better way to honour that commitment than by spotlighting the values and people who drive us forward?
As the financial year drew to a close, we gathered our team to press pause, reflect, and celebrate the achievements, ideas, and camaraderie that power Bio-D. With handmade vegan pizzas from the brilliant Beverley Pizza Company, and a selection of vegan ice creams and lollies courtesy of Wonderous Whippy, the day was packed with delicious treats and genuine appreciation. Here’s a look at the 2025 Soap Awards, the well-deserved winners, and the meaning behind each category.
The Categories and Winners
This year, we celebrated seven winners across six categories, each one recognising a unique contribution to our mission of creating sustainable, ethical, and effective cleaning products. The winners were selected by our senior management team, based on nominations and real impact throughout the year.
Innovation doesn’t need to be grand to be game-changing. This award celebrates a team member whose thoughtful ideas created significant positive changes.
Winner: James Harrison
This category honours someone who uplifts their team, supports others without hesitation, and helps make Bio-D a welcoming, inclusive place to work.
Winner: Tiago Pinto
For those who truly go above and beyond, this award recognises consistent dedication and a significant impact on the business.
Winners: Nick Moulson and Yvonne Brown
Just as every ingredient in our products is carefully chosen, so are the people who make Bio-D great. This award celebrates someone essential to our success.
Winner: Helio Silva
This one’s for the tireless contributors—the people who refuse to settle and consistently give their all for the good of the team and our mission. From early starts to finding solutions others miss, this person always goes further to make things better. And second time winner of the award.
Winner: Steve Johnson
This category recognises those who live and breathe Bio-D’s core values, integrity, sustainability, empathy, and positive impact.
Winner: Hannah Boynton
A Day of Celebration: Vegan Pizza, Ice Cream, and Recognition
Our celebration was as feel-good as our products. From the mouthwatering vegan pizzas made fresh by Beverley Pizza Company to the vegan ice creams and lollies delivered by Wonderous Whippy, the day was a joyful mix of delicious food, laughter, and heartfelt appreciation.
These fantastic local suppliers share our values, supporting ethical, community-focused business and helped us turn a workplace awards day into something memorable.
And of course, no awards are complete without, well, awards. This year’s Soap Awards were crafted by Awards FC, providing a beautiful, sustainable keepsake that aligns with our planet-friendly principles.
