We’re King’s Award winners!

We’re King’s Award winners!

We’re thrilled to announce that we have been honoured with a King’s Award for Enterprise for Sustainable Development.

The King’s Awards for Enterprise recognises and celebrates the success of exciting and innovative businesses across the UK. Described as the most prestigious business awards in the country, recipients demonstrate outstanding success in their field.

We’re over the moon to be just one of 252 organisations recognised in the 2024 awards. Announced today, recipients of awards are recommended by the Prime Minister, and personally approved by His Majesty The King.

We are also one of only 29 businesses to win a King’s Award for Enterprise in the Sustainable Development category. We hope you agree that this truly underlines our environmental credentials.

Our managing director, Lloyd Atkin said of the achievement: “We are honoured and delighted to receive such a prestigious award. We’ve spent 35 years dedicating ourselves to sustainability and reducing our impact on our precious and fragile environment. So, it is wonderful to be recognised for our efforts.”

Lloyd will be attending a Reception for The King’s Award for Enterprise recipients. The reception will be hosted by His Majesty The King at Windsor Castle!

Just some of the environmental achievements that contributed to us securing a King’s Award include:

  • Using bottles created from 100% post-consumer plastic
  • Achieving net zero for Scope 1 and 2 emissions
  • Introducing a closed-loop laundering initiative for our 20 litre refill containers
  • Significantly reducing CO2 emissions per single product we manufacture
  • Removing gas completely, powering our site with renewable energy

Heather Nixon, our sustainability, NPD and regulatory manager: added: “I am absolutely thrilled with this latest award. It confirms the hard work we do on our sustainability journey.

“Being recognised by such a prestigious award is a tribute to good leadership and the efforts of the whole team.

“Sustainability has to be a key focus in all businesses as an ethical way forward and to reach Net Zero. We are passionate in our quest and will now fly The King’s Award flag with pride.”

Now in its 58th year, The King’s Awards for Enterprise were previously known as The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise. They were renamed last year to reflect His Majesty The King’s desire to continue HM Queen Elizabeth II’s legacy.

We want to say a huge thank you to all our customers as well as our amazing team. Without you, this achievement wouldn’t have been possible!
