But what does it mean to be a B Corp? And what does it take to secure a B Corp Certification? Below we’ve explored what being B Corp means, and how our products positively impact the planet without costing the earth.
What is a B Corp Certified business?
Being B Corp Certified means that we meet rigorous social and environmental standards. We believe in using business as a force for good, prioritising sustainability and ethical practices in everything we do. That’s across all areas of the business, from employee benefits, to supply chain practices and input materials.
First applying in 2019, it took a huge amount of time and effort to cross the finish line. But it was well worth it, and a huge achievement for the whole team at Bio-D.
At the time, we were one of just 1,000 companies in the UK that reached the required standards for certification. Only one third of businesses that apply are successful, which is no mean feat!

Celebrating milestones
It’s been an incredible two years as a B Corp, and we couldn’t have done it without our amazing supporters. Together, we’ve reached new milestones – from expanding our customer base, to forging meaningful partnerships with other like-minded brands.
The Bio-D team are also indispensable, and crucial to our success; we wouldn’t be where we are today without them. To say thank you, we organised a ‘B Corp buffet’, organising an amazing grazing board from The Victoria Grazing Company. The team also enjoyed iced coffees and beers kindly provided by fellow B Corps Jimmy’s Iced Coffee and Crumbs Brewing.
