100% cellulose sponge, 100% loofah scourer, FSC packaging

1) Soak – run the sponge under the tap to see it ‘pop’

2) Reuse – freshen the sponge up in the washing machine

3) Compost – once well-used put the sponge in your compost to seep back into nature

Best to dry out between uses to prevent mould

Once well used, cut up the sponge (this speeds up composting) and place in home compost bin.

If you don’t compost, you can pop these in your usual household waste and be smug in the knowledge you haven’t generated plastic waste by switching to Seep.

What is it made from?

The sponge is made entirely of cellulose. It is compressed down and dehydrated to take on its paper-thin form.

What is cellulose?

Cellulose is basically biodegradable plant fibre, in our case it’s made from trees. Obviously we need to do this process the right way, so all of our suppliers and material comes from either FSC or PEFC managed forests. This way, we know that the materials are sustainable, and the people involved in the process are not exploited.

How does it work?

Once the sponge is made, it goes through a process of heating and compression so that it becomes paper-thin. As soon as water is reintroduced, it goes right back to the size it was.

How do I dispose of it?

Hopefully the sponges will serve you well, but when it’s time to say goodbye it’s great to know that they are 100% biodegradable – even in the general waste stream. We recommend cutting them up (this speeds up the process) and putting them in the general waste bin, where they will break down even quicker. Alternatively if you have access to a compost bin, this would work too. It is 100% natural material waste.

Where are they made?

The sponges are made, compressed, packed and stored in the U.K.
