Have tried this powder and it doesn’t seem to dissolve properly in the washing machine tray, I open it up and find it clumped in there. It comes in nice packaging and has cleaned the clothes but not great when it doesn’t wash properly. Happy for any advice to ensure it actually enters the wash.

    Hi Eleanor
Thank you very much for your review.
I am sorry to see that you have experienced the powder clumping in the drawer.
There are a few reasons this may happen ranging from using too much powder right through to the temperature of the water.
Sometimes the washing machine may be due a service too?
You could dissolve the powder in a jug of water and add to the drum before the clothes are added to ensure that all of the powder enters the wash.
Great to see that the powder is cleaning the clothes.
Thank you again for your feedback, it is really appreciated.

Our preferred washing powder. We have been using this powder in an automatic washing machine for over a year. We have softish water and use 60ml per wash- we have a lovely 60ml plastic scoop. Normal levels of dirt are removed including collars and cuffs, at 40C, but the odd heavily soiled clothing gets a prior soak in a pretreatment powder.

The 1kg pack is ABOUT 1000ml, so around 16 washes. For us six kg of powder is over a years worth of washing – hardly expensive, good to the environment, good to our clothes, good to us. None biological -we have had some sensitivity to those. No enzymes and no perfumes.

The powder is sold in paper bags which Amazon bundle together, three paper bags inside a plastic bag, which is folded over and taped- not properly sealed. For long term storage (we have a damp cellar) we heat seal each paper bag into its own plastic bag.

And this is a vegan product, BUAV approved (no animals tested).

Praise be for Bio D. This is such an obvious, simple idea it’s astonishing that no-one has thought of it before: a concentrated, hypoallergenic, biodegradable, non-toxic laundry powder which works and which comes in a brown paper bag rather than a plastic bottle (as so many ‘ecological’ and conventional laundry products do).

If you have sensitive skin and/or a sensitive nose and/or you would rather not pollute the planet with more toxic chemicals and plastic then this is the product for you.

To make your laundry smell something other than simply clean, add a few drops of essential oil to the powder before starting the wash.

The only laundry powder for eczema prone skin. Been using this since my 5 year old developed eczema as a baby…hubby has it too and this is the only Eco powder which doesn’t aggravate their skin. It’s truly Eco too unlike a lot of supposed eco products on the market. Cleans clothes well leaving them smelling fresh but not perfumed. Great product.

Great powder. Have used it for 2m now and it’s very economical. I put it in a tub and use a ground coffee scoop to measure – never need a full scoop. We have soft water. Add in some Nappy Fresh and you can sanitise bedding & underwear etc Saves buying bio and non-bio in large quantities. Will use regularly from now on

Wonderful stuff!! This product is just brilliant – I Love the packaging – so many ‘eco’ products are sold in plastic containers. It works superbly too – no complaints at all. Except that it is a bit expensive but until somewhere else starts offering a similar product cheaper that ticks all the same boxes, I’ll def still be buying this one 🙂

Fragrance free washing powder – environmentally friendly. Does the job in on low temperatures. Great for sensitive skin and for the environment. Highly recommended. Just wish postage could be cheaper……but you can’t change postal costs!
